Like all other chat applications available out there, LINE also sends messages with your data bundle on your phone. No additional costs incurred. To compare or high light this functionality is pointless in terms of comparing products because this is the basic functionality of any chat application.

LINE boasts their in app calling feature which has been running for a long time now. Other than just doing voice calls from the app you can also do video calls. This will also consume your data bundle, so if your rich and wealthy or just capping of your neighbor’s data then video call your mom, your dad, your girlfriend, your lecturer, your dog or even yourself if you’re into that kind of thing. Other than that just check your data regularly as video streaming does not come cheap.
This is also available on your personal computer… if it has a webcam… and if it is plugged in…
If you haven't heard of stickers then you better get with it, LINE is allowing users to communicate with illustrations from the start… thinking of Facebook stickers might ring a bell… but unlike Facebook, LINE stickers are being sold to users with tremendous success.
LINE has promoted sticker diversity to the globe by allowing users to create their own and upload it to their store for everyone in the world (LINE users) to buy them… all 250 million of them!!!!! You can set the price of those stickers… so go do the math… see how much you can make…
LINE does provide some free stickers which is, as the fairer sex would say “OMG OMG OMG, these stickers are soooooooo cute!!!”. Additionally, companies like Disney and Marvel also create stickers which users may purchase.

With LINE you are able to send videos and pictures, but then again…. So does everyone else. The only question is what sets LINE apart from the rest?
The answer is albums and notes!!!!!
With LINE you are able to create albums which saves within your chat with another user or a group of users. The albums don’t spam the chat and can be viewed any time during the chat lifetime quite effectively. This means that it doesn’t matter if the album was created 2 years ago it still lists in the album list and not the actual chat.
This also works the same with notes, and notes can be anything from an email address or even a group policy…. IT WILL REMAIN accessible to everyone even if you joined the group chat 3 years after it was created. Pretty cool huh?
The cool thing about the news feature of LINE is that you can setup your company profile and get users to join or subscribe to receive news updates about your products… I’m not particularly sure what all you can add on there, but I’ll bet it’s a lot of stuff.

Other features
Other features that LINE boasts is the timeline feature, the Keep feature and the Shake to add friends feature.
I particularly find the timeline feature most impressive as it is as it says… a timeline… so you can show off to your friends where you are visiting, what you are eating, what car you just bought, your duckface pictures or just silly moments that you enjoy and cherish.
Just a little insight in life… duck faces are not cute (maybe a little bit cute :3)… or attractive in any way, so just smile for the birdy ok? OK!
I almost forgot!!!!!! There are translator bots available within chat, anything from English to Chinese, English to German, English to Spanish and the list goes on and on and on…. Very very very neat feature in LINE that doesn’t get the attention it deserves.
Go try it out, it might prove useful if you ever decide to go visit international countries like Germany and you don’t want to look like that tourist that carries a translator book around your waist like you would carry a baby. EMBRACE TECHNOLOGY!!!!!
